It’s true that "Sync over infrared port" is slow and uncomfortable (the PDA need clear side of view with the PC) comparing the "Sync over Wi-Fi" and "Sync over Bluetooth" types but we never know one day you may need to use it too and by the way there is nothing more easy to do then "Sync over IR".
